Dr. Katherine Ryan is originally from Pflugerville, Texas, where she was always an avid animal lover and participated in many activities involving animals, including volunteering at therapeutic horseback riding facilities. She received her Bachelor of Science from Tulane University in 2013, where she majored in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology with a minor in Business. From there, she attended Kansas State University and graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2017.

Dr. Ryan then returned to Texas, where she practiced general and emergency medicine at two clinics in a small town east of Dallas for one year. In July of 2018, Dr. Ryan moved to Virginia where she now resides with her boyfriend and dog, Sophie. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, horseback riding, playing musical instruments, spending time with her friends, traveling with family and playing fetch with her dog.
